The inauguration of CADIA was held on April 22nd, 2005.
The event was a great success with over 120 people attending.
Many of our distinguished guests were from industry, including companies
like Marel, Össur, Hex Software, games-producer CCP and others.
Some visitors were from overseas (see if you can spot them in the photos
below). We were also extremely happy to see several important people
from the University of Iceland.
Below are photographs from the event.

Skundar the robot greeted the audience as they entered
the lecture hall.
Skundar is part of the Garage A.I.
project at CADIA.

Over 120 people attended the event, which consisted of
an introduction by Yngvi and Kris,
followed by a lecture by Professor Dr. Norman I. Badler from the University
of Pennsylvania.

Norm gave an inspiring talk about how to fuse aritifical
intelligence with animation.

The reception features three demonstrations by students
in A.I.: Learning agents (back wall in this
photo), Skundar the robot and dialog-driven instructions for navigating
the London Tube (subway).
